Job Title: Road Runner



Reports to: Summer Staff Coordinators, Program Director

Position Purpose:

To further the mission of LOMC by providing support and supplies for camp counselors and campers so the daily functions of camp can be successful and safe.

General Ministry Responsibilities: 

  1. Live in and help foster Christian community.
  2. Maintain safe and clean environment.
  3. Seek to increase our care for creation.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide support by delivering needed supplies.

Ensure campers/counselors have an adequate amount of water available throughout camp.

Aid counselors with supplies requested such as firewood, game equipment, extra first aid safety supplies, etc.

Maintain cleanliness and automotive needs of the Camp Vans and Program Gator.

Load canoes on boat racks when trips are scheduled.

Communicate when program supplies are damaged or need to order additional supplies.

Maintain the cleanliness and follow proper steps for drying out tents after use by campers or staff

Help with setting up a zip line session

Aid in harnessing campers for zip line (training available)

Help counselors launch canoes into the pond.

Manage equipment that needs to be put away daily (canopies, activity equipment: archery, zip line, games, etc.)

Help in end of week cleaning of bunk houses.

Attend Sunday staff worship and meeting.

Welcome campers and parents on their arrival on Sunday.  Direct them to various locations.

Follow daily camp schedule and know where you are needed throughout the day.

Check in with the Summer Staff Coordinators for more assigned duties.

Equipment Used:

Program Gator, Walkie Talkies, Camp Van


Direct relationships with Camp Counselors, Maintenance Department, Kitchen Staff, Lifeguards


Must be 16 years of age or older.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must submit a health history record prior to first day of work.

Must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of LOMC grounds will be required.

Knowledge of LOMC and its mission.

Ability to work well with others.

Physical Requirements:

Endurance to be on your feet and on the go while working irregular camp hours.

Willing to live in a camp setting during the week (not required if local) with limited or simple equipment and facilities; and with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and bugs.

Staff that is under the age of 18 years old will be required to leave LOMC on Friday evenings and return Sunday afternoons.
