Oregon, IL, April 11, 2019 – Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC) welcomes new Executive Director Rob Gieraltowski effective Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Rob’s relationship with LOMC extends back to the summer of 1985 when he attended Spelunking Camp and eventually became a summer camp counselor in the early 1990s. He has served on the LOMC Board of Directors for ten (non-consecutive) years and volunteers in a variety of ways to help LOMC grow in its mission to be the Church in the outdoor settings, nurturing Christian faith and providing experiences connecting the Word of God with the World of God.
For the past 25 years, Rob has passionately served at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington, IL, with the past 21 years in family ministry. He currently serves as Director for Junior High Ministries leading a large weekly program for 6-8th graders.
With the outdoors ever as a backdrop, Rob enjoys running, hiking (on and off-trails) and capturing it all through photography (maybe not while running). In Psalm 121 it shares, “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.”
Rob is excited to be a part of the wonderful legacy and ministry of LOMC. “God works tirelessly in love for us! As a church in the outdoor setting, my prayer and drive is for LOMC to continue to be a vital place of faith year-round for our ELCA churches, individuals and many other friends alike. The community of LOMC helps in its partnerships to help others to grow in faith through the unique world of God’s creation.”
Please give Rob a warm welcome to LOMC along with your prayers for St. John’s and LOMC ministries!
