TriChurch Gives To LOMC

A beautiful example of partnership in the Gospel between LOMC and congregations is TriChurch, three congregations united in one mission. As mentioned in a previous newsletter, they are St. Paul and St. John Lutheran Churches in Sterling and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. They have helped in the way of monetary gifts from both offerings during Sunday worship and from hosting a Luther Nordic Choir concert last February.

Their biggest blessing yet was showered upon us on June 1st when they chose our camp to do a “God’s Work. Our Hands” mission service project. Over 30 men, women and children were on site that day volunteering their time and service. Many picnic tables were purchased and assembled that day, and some were stained. They also did a lot of gardening work planting beautiful flowers in large potters that have been placed at the entrances to some of our buildings to further enhance the welcoming “curb appeal” of our sacred grounds. They also showered us with an abundance of toiletry and household needs, such as bath towels, shower curtains, bath mats, LED light bulbs, brooms, mops, dust pans, and buckets!

Each of the TriChurch congregations received donations to make ALL of this possible, proof that together we can always do more! We love that they have shown us so much love and generosity, and we’d like to build this same type of rapport and service projects with more congregations, an active goal in Development going forward.

Partnering Congregations

We are blessed to have 47 ELCA congregations (as of end of July) supporting us within all 3 synods. Check out the list here: http://lomc.org/thank-you-congregations/  Don’t see your congregation listed? If in error, please notify our office. If not, you can help us change that! We seek to develop a partnership in the Gospel with everyone. Contact Development Director Adriana Plocinski to help kick start an introductory connection with your congregation.
