What Happened To Memorial Day Work Weekend?
After much prayer and thought we decided we needed to move in a new direction.
- The cost of feeding and housing a large group has gotten beyond what LOMC can provide.
- More and more people told us that Memorial Day weekend is too busy for them to attend.
- Our number of participants has decreased greatly in the past 6-8 years.
- We believe more people are able to come out for just the day rather than commit to a whole weekend.
Can We Stay Overnight?
Yes.
We are unable to provide free housing at this time however.
We invite you to book a RETREAT (Together) for either of those weekends and enjoy both LOMC activities and good service work.
Follow the link above to learn more.
What Should We Bring?
We recommend each person bring the following:
- Work gloves
- Water bottle
- We will have areas where you can fill/refill your container.
- Head covering
- Sunscreen and insect repellant
Optional:
- Any tools you can bring to help with basic repairs and landscaping.
- Shovel, rake, lopers, shears, etc.
- Change of clothes for the ride home.
